We try to find “deals” around the island on car rentals, and other services…..When you learn of something, please send it to us so we can include it on this page. Please note that some of our guests have found this information helpful. However, we do not endorse any company found on this page. *Special thanks to Carl and Rhea for pointing us in this direction.

Car Rentals: Jeff Says: "I found a good weekly car rate through this company. I just sent in my request and they put together BRAND X for me. I got a great deal for an economy car with no extra driver fees too. Thought you might want to use them for you and your clients. www.DiscountHawaiiCarRental.com"
Mary recommends: "I found this on the internet and it worked for me. Phone: 808-833-7575 A-1 Rent A Car $14.95/day* Located near the HonoluluAirport (*30 Day Economy Rental Required)"
If you do not mind an older model car with some dents and scratches......or sometimes with lots of dents and scratches.....you can talk with V.I.P. Car Rentals. Their location is 2463 Kuhio Ave [That's east toward Diamond Headfrom where you are staying. The location is just beyond the Royal Grove which you won't miss. The Royal Grove is a bright pink old hotel on Kuhio]. Their phone number is: 808-924-6500.
Skooter Rentals: Also on Kuhio walking toward Diamond head on your right hand side just past the little square and right next door to the Bamboo you will find some skooter rentals. They are, I think, about $12.00 per day.
Bus Routes and Public transportation: Hawaii has a great public transportation system. Buses will take you all over Waikiki and between Honolulu and Waikiki. They also go all over the island to the North Shore, the Polynesian Culture Center, and everywhere you might want to go. For a complete schedule, and bus routes, you can visit: http://www.thebus.org/
Websites with tour and activity information--Here are our favorties:
First I have to say that the best things in Hawaii are free! The beaches, cool breezes, deep coral water, lovely blue skies, rainbows galore, and sunsets are amazing. But should you want to participate in activities there are so many to enjoy:

Great Food at a Great Price: We love Thai food--and recently found a great new place. Give it a try: To Thai For Located on Waialae Ave, this is a family run business and frequented by locals. You'll love the great food and warm inviting ambiance. It is not a fancy place: it is so new they were still working on the decor on our last visit. They have perfected the food--it is wonderful no doubt about it.

Don't miss Dolphin Quest at the Kahala Hotel. While this is an expensive venture, the dolphins are in pools at the hotel, and you can go anytime to watch the training for free. The hotel is lovely. The beach from our front page is located here. Bus #14 from the most eastern tip of Waikiki near the McDonald's http://dolphinquest.org/destinations/oahu/
Even if you don't go in the water with the dolphins, you can watch them preform for free and this is an expecially nice place to relax on the beach for a day--We spend about 4 days a week here when we are in Waikiki!! The picture on the first page was taken just west of the hotel along the beach.
